LH discussions thread
So in short, ITT serious discussion on any/all episodes/character-center subject so far(how long will this last hehe...).

I'll start:

I believe that Lincoln is becoming more like everyone's punching bag with every episode. Every other episode with him doing something to please either his desires or his social circles concludes with him either sacrificing his venture for the sake of morals or receiving a punishment/outcome far worse than before and him resigning to shoulder the burden. This kid deserve(s/d) a hell of a lot more credit than becoming the series' Meg Griffin.

Well I say that Lincoln does get his share of karma, but he's not at the same level of humiliation and abuse as meg griffon he's not going to get a dramatic break down episode like she did.

Clyde
Even after the episode where he and Lincoln play outdoorsman, I'm sure the showrunners don't really know what to do with him. Lincoln plays off his sisters so much that Clyde largely comes off as shoved in.

Spoiler?
After today's episode he's got a weird friend to mutually commiserate with. Maybe he'll be temporarily be over Lori for the fair episode as suomynona and myself have been speculating. Though a follow up date would be interesting for Clyde, I doubt it will take a center stage maybe getting mentioned in passing or as a note or picture on a fridge, dads will probably mention how poetic she is and appreciate that she's closer to his age, but I doubt it.

He has potential to be the Everyman if Lincoln suddenly gets his way more often and some how looses the moral lesson learner role to lily in years down the line if they decide to age the louds like some comics have done.

Dance Dance Revolution
For once, Clyde didn't annoy me at all. He was enjoyable to watch. I agree with Waybin when Cylde seems like hes just shoved in. A little bummed that his sisters didn't show up as much I thought they would. Once again, the show writers make Lincoln the reason why he has to deal with his problems. At least the ending was a happier. RonnieX Lincoln isn't my OTP but they really do make a great couple. Love the scenes between them. I have one question, didn't Lincoln like Ronnie? Why would he avoid a dance with her. Or did I miss the explanation in the episode.

He didn't want to go to the dance, but didn't admit it until it was too late to say so or else he'd spurn the dates, make a fool out of his sisters (who btw didn't have to get Linc dates at all especially given the significance of the SH dance, but they did), and especially wrong Ronnie (thankfully she had a better way of handling it by admitting she'd do the same and her intentions were elsewhere instead of the dance). Clyde at this point is either wingman or sidekick to Linc, but thankfully he enjoyed the dance, giving Linc and Ronnie the time they needed to grow closer. Today's ep (DDR) ended with nearly everyone having "enjoyed" their time in the end, which is way better than an "I told you so" ending.

also, compared to last week's eps, I can start to hear the new VA for Lincoln more (especially in DDR)

Writers and other credits
I think we may need to look at who is writting which script and when as some people follow certain writers in comics we may find who has better Clyde control and overall better writting in the future. Not to diminish the show as a whole just as a gauge of what to expect.

(SPOILER) Short blurb on today's episode
FUCKIN' WEEKEND AT BERNIE'S THE SHIT OUTTA THIS EP DAMN!

also after the ep, i may be one of the only ones who sympathizes with Bobby, I mean both Lori and Linc were kinda using/wronging him but he didn't mind/completely forgot so long as he could let others have a good time, and to an extent himself depending, and hell he still even thinks of Clyde as a friend too (but that could be his ignorance since he didn't find out clyde was trying to sabotage his date with Lori, nor that clyde was unconscious during the ep) despite the jealousy he felt when Lori was complimenting what she made him think Clyde did.

Called it
Bobby was the cool guy in school who was down for anything, he's nice that's for sure. His intelligence has been varying levels from average to less than average so that could have been at play as to why he was oblivious to Clyde's attempts to ruin the date and his unconsciousness during this episode. Or he could have just been down to roll with anything, we've yet to see him get mad. I'm not sure how the fans feel about Clyde's week end at Bernie's part in the episode.

He got mad in Save the Last Dance when he saw Lincoln call Ronnie "rude, gross, and totally annoying."

He's either totally oblivious to Clyde hating him and wanting his girlfriend, or views Clyde as a complete non-threat.

I think fans normally dislike the whole fainting and nosebleed thing, but I think that old gag was given a little zing by showing Lucy's strangely happy reactions to it. Also, I can't help but laugh at the scene at the end because, out of context, it looked like everyone else in the scene was laughing at Clyde dying.

No solid predictions for tonight
Forgot about that part of save the date. How many 10-11 year olds have a chance at stealing your significant other though? As for Clyde "dying" I guess that part of the trolldom will be satisfied with that.

I'm thinking this will be a Lola learns a lesson episode again. Maybe a whole etu Lana moment when she's shunned again. Having to learn her lesson by lying to the parents or keeping omething under wraps at the end probably some of the siblings sneaking out or in, or doing something she doesn't like.

Spoilers home spun
I liked it I was not expecting a flash back episode. I liked that they showed some of bobbies origins, Was expecting his origins with Lori to be a flash back episode where all the kids accidentally influenced them into liking each other. My favorite flash back was Lucy's confession about her cheating on Edwin and how it felt like everyone had input, what killed it for me was how Rita related her experiences with a certain lumber jack in her life.

April Fool's Rules, Luan Drools(?)
So outside the episode, part of the fandom is going crazy over Luan's pranks (mainly the scope and size of it) and whether or not she went "overboard" on everyone, and in essence begun to hate her (whether in jest or for serious). Through the grapevine, 4chan is its usual self due to Ronnie Anne having a part in the ep. And most absurd yet, some believe that the crew was throwing a few bones/barbs at the "fandom" and their creations/portrayals of some characters but mostly JumpJump's version of Luan in his comic. What you think? Has fandom "gone too far" once again?

Personally, I'm more inclined to think that every sibling other than Lincoln or Lily goes 0-100 in their passions, and for Luan, April Fools is essentially like Luna's "Give Me Swelter Tour" experience, whereas every other prank she's committed so far has been child's play. sure, she acted a bit mean-spirited, but between Lynn, Lori, Lola and even Luna to an extent, hers really doesn't stay constant afterwards (and if the fandom can accept that, why not Luan's own during April Fools, which may just be the only one of its kind?). Sometimes I think that no matter what comes about, there will always be those fans willing to go the extra crazy mile to overanalyze something (and admittedly I'm not that much different...at least not like before)

Leni walking off into the sunset/sunrise total xylophone music moment.

I theorized that the fandom may have had an effect on the writting but then remembering that production supposedly happens months prior to airing I didn't think it was possible. But I'm "relatively" new to the fandom, and there have been minor clues about how "scary" the Internet is from official posts and I'm reminded that south park makes episodes in seven days and with the way animation is its not entirely impossible to do that with a nick show.

I digress, she's got the ingenuity of a television child to set up home alone style plans which like kids in star trek being taught calculus at age 8 is an exaggeration. So just like vanzilla being sunk and literally torn to shreds only to show up later i take it with a grain of salt. I didn't hate her for it just as I didn't hate Luna for taking a gig too seriously, or any of the kids taking a quirk too far they're kids.

Every sister is probably going to get an episode or two where they screw up and learn from it I'm really interested in a Leni episode myself.

Theory- Lucy
Lucyis going to have something over the kids where she gets her way for the entire day. My "evidence" sketches of the kids all shooting her a dirty look on the couch. Probably her birthday that they forgot about or something like that.

Lucy is goth because she once had a crush on Clyde and realized it could never happen and accepted the darkness within her soul.

Your second theory on Lucy seems to make no sense in my opinion. People could have crushes but that doesn't mean they go goth if they can't be with someone.

It's just a rough theory, what could make an 8 year old go goth? Goths didn't exist in my elementary school and only really showed up in middle school. Juliet in Romeo and Juliet was 13 and their logical jump from we mutually love each other but can never be together is too instead of running away is to kill themselves or at least pretend to kill themselves.
